How Long Can You Keep a Rented Dumpster?
Most Florida roll-off rentals include a set number of days in the base price, commonly 7 to 14. After that a daily rate applies. Rental length is a pricing input, not a hard limit, so longer terms can usually be arranged in advance.
Typical rental terms
- Standard residential rental: often 7 to 14 days included
- Extension: commonly a per-day charge after the included period
- Construction sites: monthly terms with per-haul pricing when emptied
- Early pickup: usually available on request at no extra cost
Planning your container days
Schedule delivery for the day before demolition starts, not the same morning, so a delayed truck does not stall the crew.
For roofing, keep the container only for the tear-off window. Shingle loads reach the weight limit quickly, so extra days add little value.
In Florida's rainy season, an open container left on site for weeks collects rainwater and gains weight, which can push a load over its tonnage allowance.
